[Who's got two thumbs and is relaxing on a bunk in his own private jail cell? THIS GUY. Duncan here got picked up after breaking into a shop in Goldenrod, and had his Haunter sneak his Pokégear back to him...among a few other things, just to mess with the cops when he wasn't busy with the forced labor at the local inn he'd been assigned. Mostly stuff he could use to pick the lock on his cell door in a pinch, though at the moment all that's hidden in various places on his person and in the cell.]

Man it feels good to be home. Well, not home home, but it's not like there's a whole lot of difference between jail cells here and back where I come from.

[Well, he doesn't have a bunkmate yet, so that's actually an improvement. Not to mention the fact the security here seems pretty low in comparison. Almost like they didn't have as many dedicated career criminals. Then again, Duncan also figures they could just be holding him in a low security cell because they figure it's his first offense. Either way, he's been causing them headaches most of the morning.]

So, does this place work on the honor system or what? Once the loser at the desk notices I've got my gear back, it's gonna be the second time this morning they had to take it away from me.

Seriously, I feel kind of insulted it's this easy to get outta my cell.

[He'll raise a brow at that. Kind of a weird name, but after giving it a little more thought, Duncan figured it'd work. Sounded like it could stick in people's heads, so the guy's obviously good at knowing how to build a rep.]

I think I could get behind that. Felt the same way about Juvie.

Y'should try pleadin' insanity. Arkham was always a lot nicer than plain ol' jail.

Tch, and why would I wanna do that? Not like I'm crazy, I just like wreckin' stuff.

[Not to mention a few other things he doesn't have time to list. Well, he does, he just doesn't feel like borin' the weirdo on the other end of the line.]

Besides, it ain't like jail's all that bad. Once you figure out how to deal with the boredom, it's cake.

Most o' the people in the loony-bin aint' that crazy either, they're just different.

Th' company's a lot more interesting, for one. An' they let you do stuff so you don't get bored. Well, mostly. They had t'keep Mister J outta arts an' crafts after he did th' thing with the macaroni an' pipe-cleaners.

I don't want company, just like I don't wanna know about what your boyfriend does at the stupid kiddie table.

And I definitely don't need any stupid doctors tryin' to tell me I got somethin' wrong with me. Least with prison, they just lock you up and leave you alone 'til you get in trouble.

Hey, Mister J is an ARTIST. If that guard'd played along better, he probably woulda still been able to walk and eat without a straw and everything!

...an' what's wrong with doctors? I was a doctor for a while.

I don't like anybody who thinks they know me better'n I do. They're the ones who could use a shrink.

You're not going to get much travelling done from in there, though.

That's the point, genius, I like this city. I just figured I'd save a few bucks on a place to sleep.

You're not going to be kept in there for just a few days if you have repeat offenses though. It'd be a shame if you couldn't see the natural beauty of Johto that comes with travelling around, or the closeness of bonds between a trainer and his partners that form and grow as you spend time with them.

I figure it's probably a lot like camp. All ya do is spend a whole lotta time doin' nothin, surrounded by total strangers and puttin' up with authority figures on a power trip.

Only difference is you don't gotta waste any money gettin' in.

[Yeah he is sounding way too comfortable with this for it to be healthy.]

Glad I never went, then.

[Unless you count TDI, but once that enters the picture, prison seems WAY better in comparison.]

Besides, back home I probably spent more time in a cell than I did at home, so it ain't like this is new.
